Tehran(IP) - A Finnish writer on the sidelines of the 37th Iran Book of the Year ceremony said that Iranians are a cultural nation who have written their own history themselves from the late pre-historic times until the early century of the Islamic rule.

Iran Press/ Iran News: On the sidelines of the 37th Iran Book of the Year and the 27th Iran World Award for Book of the Year, Jaakko Hameen-Anttila a writer from Finland in an exclusive interview with Iran Press stated, his book is about the early history writing of Iran and how the Iranians have written their own history themselves from the late pre-historic times until the early century of the Islamic rule.

He further explained that what he is trying to do is recovering parts of lost history, especially lost history writing and to explain how this tradition developed and influenced Arabic historiographers and this is also relevant for understanding the sources of 'Shahname' by the great Iranian poet Ferdowsi.

He concluded in his interview that culture, literature, and arts even in difficult times are very important for Iranians because they are part of cultural heritage and Iranians should be proud of that and should study their own history and culture and write new literature and culture.
