Iranian senior diplomat in his latest tweet released on Saturday

Tehran (IP) - Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi said that the assassination of Commander of IRGC Quds Force Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani by the US has paved the ground for end of US presence in West Asia.

Iran Press/Iran news: Iran's senior diplomat in his latest tweet released on Saturday reiterated that " #Maximum_Pressure is clearly a big failure but WH hawks-understand nothing about Iran-still insist! "

He also concluded that " Now juniors in DoS-too blinde to see mass demonstrations-threaten another General!"

The Commander of Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani, who had traveled to Iraq on the official invitation of the Iraqi officials, was assassinated by the US in Baghdad on January 3, 2020, along with his companions.

Many countries, organizations, and groups have condemned the US terrorist act.

The US secretary of state Mike Pompeo confessed that he was involved in President Donald Trump's decision to assassinate General Soleimani.

On January 23, US special representative for Iran, Brian Hook in Davos, Switzerland said that Brigadier General Esmail Ghaani new head of the IRGC Quds Force, and the successor of Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani 'would suffer the same fate'.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi condemned the threat and said the U.S threat to kill Brigadier General Ghaani is a sign of 'governmental terrorism'.

“These words are an official announcement and a clear unveiling of America’s targeted and governmental terrorism,” Mousavi said, calling on the international community to condemn Hook’s comments.
