Tehran (IP) - Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister, Seyyed Abbas Araqchi, described the positions of the three European countries (France, German, and Britain) in the aftermath of the US assassination of Lt. General Qasem Soleiman as inappropriate.

Iran PressIran news: Seyyed Abbas Araqchi, Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs in an exclusive interview with Iran Press News Agency said: "In our view, the positions of the three European countries were unilateral, and almost this was some kind of support for US terrorist action."

"We either summoned or notified ambassadors and Charge de affairs from three European countries. The British ambassador will be summoned again today and we will protest against the positions of the Prime Minister and other Britain's officials," the diplomat said.

"In regards to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), they said that they were considering activating a dispute resolution mechanism, or Article 36, or the trigger mechanism, and we think this would be a very wrong move and would speed up the termination of the agreement," Araqchi highlighted.

"Iran has reduced its limitations based on the JCPOA as sanctions have returned. We are in a relative equilibrium at the JCPOA right now, and if the European behavior changes and Iran's interests are met, we are ready to return to the agreement, deputy FM concluded," Araghchi added. 207/205
