Abadan (IP)- The body of the fallen hero and deputy commander of Iraq's Popular Mobilisation Forces, also known as Hashd Al-Sha'bi, Abu Mahdi al Muhandis has arrived at Abadan Airport, with throngs of black-clad mourners carrying the coffin on their hands and shoulders.

Iran PressIran News: The body of the valiant warrior of Isam, and deputy commander of Iraq's Hashd Al-Sha'bi, Abu Mahdi al Muhandis arrived in the city of Abadan in southern Iran. The coffin of the martyred hero was carried on the shoulders of huge numbers of mourners who attended the funeral procession in the city of Abadan as well as other cities and towns of Khuzestan province, including Khorramshahr, Minooshahr, Arvandkenar, and Chu'badeh, and Minoohey.

The huge crowd of mourners accorded a tumultuous welcome to the fallen hero and courageous fighter for Islam.

The coffin was taken on the shoulders of mourners to Martyr Sattari Square of Abadan, and then onwards to Abadan University of Maritime Science and Technology, and then onwards to resistance Square in the city of Khorramshahr.

Senior officials attended the funeral procession, including Ayatollah Jazayeri, the most senior cleric and religious authority in Khuzestan province.

Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani was assassinated by direct order of US President Donal Trump along with several senior members of Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) on Friday Morning 3 January at Baghdad International airport.
