Iran Press/Iran news: On the sideline of Lt. Gen. Qasem Soleimani's funeral procession, the former chief of the Joint Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Major General Hassan Firouzabadi said in an interview with Iran Press, "There has never been an accident of this extend so far for a country. Political figures are sometimes assassinated, but General Soleimani was an international strategist from 22 to 62 years old of his life ".
Firouzabadi added: "He was, In fact, the sword of the Leader, Quran, Islam, Vilayat-e Faqih and the Iranian people. This is a significant accident and there is no example of its size but Ashura," the former commander said.
"So it is different from all the events in the world and in the contemporary history and that of political assassinations, and Great Satan(the US) did it with ignorance and deception", the former chief of the Joint Staff underscored.
"It is the duty of the world to condemn this act in accordance with international law, and the revenge of this is on those who know Soleimani and the soldier of Imam Mahdi well", he concluded.
Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani was assassinated along with several senior members of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) on Friday Morning 3 January at Baghdad International airport.
Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani was awarded by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei as the first Iranian military official to hold Iran’s highest military order, the Order of Zulfaqar after the 1979 Islamic Revolution. 205/219
