Ahvaz (IP) – Millions of Iranians from all walks of life poured into the streets and squares of Ahvaz, southern Iran, to commemorate the martyrdom of the late Commander of Qods Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), Lieutenant-General Qasem Soleimani.

Iran Press/Iran News: All over Ahvaz, from north to south and from west to east, is covered with black flags and banners of Martyred Lieutenant General Soleimani's images in the hands of the people taking part in the colossal funeral ceremony.

People also carry flags on which the name of Imam Hossein (AS), the third Shia Imam, and his brother Abalfazl al-Abbas (AS) are depicted, mourning for the great commander martyred Lieutenant General Soleimani in remembrance of Karbala event and Imam Hossein (AS) in Ashura.

They also chanted anti-US and anti-Isreali slogans.

People have covered the streets densely, showing their clamor and fury against the US.

Iranian people took to streets in Ahva to honor Martyred Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani 

United States Department of Defense released a statement, saying the US President ordered an airstrike that assassinated the commander of Iran's Quds Force, Lieutenant General Ghasem Soleimani, at Baghdad International Airport on Friday.

Martyred Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani was assassinated along with several senior members of Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) on Friday Morning 3 January at Baghdad International airport.

Martyred Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani was awarded by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei as the first Iranian military official to hold Iran’s highest military order, the Order of Zulfaqar after the 1979 Islamic Revolution. 104/219
