Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman condemned the US attack on Iraqi forces and called the US to respect Iraq's sovereignty and territorial integrity."

Iran Press/Iran News: Seyyed Abbas Mousavi on Monday condemned the US attack on Iraq's Popular Mobilization Forces' headquarters, stating that "The United States should respect Iraq's sovereignty, and territorial integrity and stop interfering in internal affairs of Iraq."

Mousavi also noted that "The US has targeted the positions of forces that have inflicted heavy blows to ISIS terrorists over the past years," Iran Press reported.

While calling the presence of foreign forces in the region as a cause of insecurity and crisis, the spokesman noted: "The United States has shown its strong support for terrorism and inattention to the sovereignty of states. The US must accept responsibility for the consequences of the illegal act."

The US drones on Sunday targeted brigades 45 and 46 of the Popular Mobilization Forces also known as al-Hashd al-Shaabi in the al-Qa'im city on the Iraq-Syria border in the al-Anbar province. At least 25 people martyred and 51 others wounded in this attack.

The Iraqi resistance group was founded in 2014 and was influential in defeating the ISIS (Daesh) terrorist group in Iraq.205/216
