Iranians have taken to the streets of Birjand, Bojnord, Ahvaz, and Bushehr to denounce the recent acts of rioting and reaffirmed their support for the country's security and authority.

Iran Press/Iran news: Different sections of the revolutionary Iranian people, in protest to recent unrest, marched across the country, today's rallies were held in the cities of Birjand, Bojnord, Ahvaz, Bushehr, with the aim of announcing their opposition to rioters and declaring their support for the security forces and the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.

Recent violent demonstrations in Iran took place after the government increased gasoline prices last week in order to bring down soaring petrol consumption in the country, and also make it less profitable for fuel smugglers who illegally sell cheap Iranian petrol in neighboring countries, Iran Press reported.

The move prompted some peaceful protests, but riotous elements, abusing the situation, quickly entered the scene, destroying public property, setting ablaze banks and petrol stations, and opening fire on people and security forces.
