Vasily Nebenzya Russian Permanent Representative to the United Nations

Russia's Permanent Representative to the United Nations has insisted on maintaining Syria's territorial integrity and stability.

Iran Press/ Europe: Vasily Nebenzya told a Security Council meeting on Thursday that the main reason for instability in northern Syria is the presence of foreign forces.

The Russian diplomat reiterated that permanent stability in Syria would not be achieved except with respect to its national sovereignty and territorial integrity.

"Russia warns of the consequences of dividing terrorists into two categories of good and bad terrorists," the Russian envoy to the United Nations added.

Referring to the situation in Idlib, northwestern Syria, Nebenzya said that the situation in Idlib will remain critical as long as it is under the control of terrorists.

Nebenzya also called on international organizations to provide appropriate conditions for the return of Syrian refugees to their country.

Moscow has been a key ally of the Syrian constitutional government and has always emphasized the need for the withdrawal of foreign forces in Syria and maintaining Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
