Iran, Republic of Azerbaijan to build an industrial town

The governor of Ardebil province, in northwestern Iran, and the deputy Economy Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, have stressed the establishment of a joint industrial town.

Iran PressIran News: In a meeting with the Republic of Azerbaijan's deputy economy minister, Niyazi Safarov, Ardebil's governor Akbar Behnamjoo said the northwestern province of Ardebil is well placed to supply the energy needs of the soon-to-be-established industrial town.

According to Behnamjoo, during an upcoming trip by an Iranian delegation to the Republic of Azerbaijan, the joint project for establishing an industrial town on the border between the two countries will be discussed and finalised by the presidents of both countries.

Niyazi Safarov, for his part, said the establishment of the industrial town will herald a new chapter of cooperation between Tehran and Baku, and will lead to stronger economic and business ties between the two nations.

Ardebil province in northwestern Iran has a 380 km border with the Republic of Azerbaijan.
