Secretary of Supreme National Security Council of Iran, Ali Shamkhani

Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) said that no country could threaten Iran's security and that the world is well aware of Iran's defensive might.

Iran Press/Iran News: Visiting Mawkibs (makeshift tents to provide Arbaeen pilgrims with essential services as well as food and beverages) in Chazabeh border on Friday, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Admiral Ali Shamkhani pointed out to millions of pilgrims from Iran and other countries of the world who are attending the Arbaeen Trek and noted that no security problem has occurred up to now.

Shamkhani described Arbaeen Trek as 'a pivotal gathering for seeking freedom and defending the Palestinian people against the Israeli regime', Iran Press reported.

He also appreciated the Iraqi government and the Iraqi nation's efforts for their excellent hospitality and holding of the Arbaeen ceremony.

Arbaeen pilgrimage is a distinctively spiritual exercise, gathering Shia's as well as Sunnis, even Christians and Zoroastrians, etc. from various nationalities altogether making their way to the holy Iraqi cities of Najaf and Karbala, walking toward the Holy shrine of Imam Hussein (PBUH) commemorating the 40th day of his martyrdom in the battle of Karbala, in 680 AD.
