Zarif: US is irrelevant occupier in Syria

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif called the United States an irrelevant occupier in Syria.

Iran Press/ Iran news: In response to the recent US move to withdraw its troops from Syria, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a twitter message on Monday evening called the United States an irrelevant occupier in Syria.

Emphasizing Iran's readiness to help Syria, Iranian Foreign Minister added: "Achieving peace & fighting terror in Syria will only succeed by respecting its territorial integrity and its people."

Zarif reiterated on his twitter account: "US is an irrelevant occupier in Syria—futile to seek its permission or rely on it for security. Achieving peace & fighting terror in Syria will only succeed thru respect for its territorial integrity & its people."

The United States began pulling troops back from the northeast Syria border on Monday, opening the way for a Turkish strike on Kurdish-led forces. A move that U.S. President Donald Trump hailed as a bid to quit endless wars.

"Turkey, Europe, Syria, Iran, Iraq, Russia and the Kurds will now have to figure the situation out," Trump said in a twitter message.
