Iran boosts tourism cooperation with Tajikistan

Iran's Minister of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism and Tajikistan's Foreign Minister have stressed the importance of promoting tourism between the two countries.

Iran Press/Asia: The Iranian Minister of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Ali Asghar Mounesan who is in Dushanbe, Tajikistan's capital, to participate in a conference of Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Tourism Ministers, met with Foreign Minister of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin (also written Seraj el-Din Mohr el-Din) on Thursday evening, discussing expansion of bilateral ties, and promotion of tourism between the two countries.

Referring to the two countries' linguistic, cultural, religious, and historical commonalities as well as the Leader of the Islamic Revolution's remarks describing the ties as 'kinship relation', Mounesan said good steps have been taken in recent months to improve bilateral ties, Iran Press reported.

For his part, Tajikistan's foreign minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin called for expansion of bilateral ties, saying both countries should benefit.  and commonalities in order to enhance tourism exchange between the two countries and using Iran's experiences in holding tourism fairs, training experts, and introducing Iran and Tajikistan's potentials in various areas, particularly tourism, through exhibitions.

Iran's Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Crafts left Dushanbe for Khujand city, in northern Tajikistan, to attend the third meeting of ECO Tourism Ministers, which will begin on Friday 4 October 2019.
