Tehran (IP) - Head of Iran's Cultural Heritage, Handcrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHHTO) said that the country’s tourism industry is on the right track.

Iran Press/Iran news: "Iran’s tourism industry is progressing well despite the US’ undermining measures," said Ali Asghar Mounesan on Sunday.

In an interview with Iran press on the sidelines of Parliament session on Sunday he added that investment in the tourism industry is estimated around 200 billion tomans in 2018 which indicates growth in the field comparing to 2017.

"In 2017, the number of foreign tourists visiting Iran stood at 4.7 million. In 2018, the number reached 7.7 million, and we witnessed a boom in the first four months of the current year compared to the same period in previous years,” he noted.

The ICHHTO has recently been changed into a ministry, and Mounesan was picked as President Rouhani’s candidate to serve as the minister.

Tomorrow in the next parliament's plenary meeting the qualification of two proposed ministers will be  reviewed.

Also, the Chairman of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy committee Mojtaba Zonnour, said that Iran's foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif will attend the committee’s session to brief the MPs on his recent tour to some European and other countries.

Members of parliament are supposed to review 6 articles including 'Consideration of the report of the Judicial and Legal Commission about Trade Bill' and 'Agriculture, water and natural resource and environment commissions report about the agreement article between Iran and china in the field of health and Animal quarantine.'

Today, Article 248 which is related to 'Consideration of the report of the Judicial and Legal Commission on Trade Bill Law' has been approved by Iranian MPs.
