Naval maneuvers codenamed Enduring Security 98 begin in the Caspian Sea

Iran's naval maneuvers "Enduring Security 98", codenamed 'Ya Hussein (AS)' began in the Caspian Sea on Sunday with a message of peace and friendship.

Iran Press/Iran news: The military and naval exercises, designed to enhance combat capability and combat readiness at sea, began this morning with the participation of surface and air units of the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy including combat destroyers, missile-launching frigates, warplanes, helicopters, as well as marines and rangers.

Iran's naval maneuvers "Enduring Security 98" are being held in the territorial waters of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Caspian Sea in an area of ??2,500 square miles.

During the training, offensive and defensive scenarios are practiced to safeguard Iranian territorial waters and to protect commercial shipping.

The Army Air Defense Force is also providing close air support to the training area.

According to Rear Admiral Khanzadi, the top commander of the Navy, the training will continue for four days in the Caspian Sea and its overall aim is to achieve and maintain collective security.

Rear Admiral Khanzadi said the maneuvers are carried out independently, but Iran plans to hold a joint naval exercise in the Caspian Sea with its neighbors in the near future.
