Yazd (IP) - Iranian Vice President and Head of Plan and Budget Organization said that a big economic war has been imposed on his country via sanctions that have been intensified over the past year.

Iran Press/Iran news: Speaking at a provincial meeting in the central city of Yazd on Thursday night, Mohammad-Bagher Nobakht added, "We can pass this hard situation through resistance and unity."

Referring to the US president Donald Trump's negotiation offer, Iranian Vice President noted that this proposal is nothing but propaganda, Iran Press reported.

President Donald Trump said on July 30 that he is ready to meet his Iranian counterpart, Hassan Rouhani, “any time they want to.”

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has emphasised that the Islamic Republic will not enter into new negotiations with the United States due to cheating and bullying nature of its government.

Last year, US President Donald Trump unilaterally pulled his country out of a 2015 multilateral nuclear deal with Iran, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), and unleashed the “toughest ever” sanctions against Tehran, notably targeting its energy sector.

Washington has also been building up its military presence in the Middle East under the pretext of alleged Iranian threats.

Since its withdrawal from the JCPOA, Washington has been trying to coerce other countries into joining its anti-Iran pressure campaign.

According to Iran’s foreign minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, the US is waging “economic terrorism” against the Islamic Republic by employing restrictive measures.101
