Iran’s Foreign Ministry on Saturday summoned the United Arab Emirates’ charge d’affaires over a violation of its airspace by a US drone which Iranian forces shot down.

Iran Press/Iran news: “The Islamic Republic of Iran disapproves of provision of (military) facilities for foreign forces for the purpose of launching attacks or aggression against Iran's maritime, ground and air frontiers,” director of the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s department of Persian Gulf affairs said.

The Iranian diplomat also reminded the UAE that countries cannot shirk their responsibilities in such cases, Iran Press reported.

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Ministry summoned Swiss ambassador to Tehran, whose country represents the US interests in Iran, over a US spy drone’s encroachment into Iranian airspace.

In the meeting with an Iranian Foreign Ministry official, the Swiss ambassador Markus Leitner was asked to notify Washington that Tehran is not after a war with any country, but the Iranian Armed Forces will give a crushing response to any aggression.

The Islamic Revolution Guard Corps shot down a US spy drone, identified as RQ-4 Global Hawk on Thursday morning, when it entered Iran's airspace in southern coastal Hormozgan province. 101/211
