Unity is vital need of Islamic countries to resist enemies: Ebrahimi Turkman

Iranian head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization in meeting with Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims' Board in Baku stressed on the vital need for unity among Muslims to resist enemies' plots.

Iran Press/Asia: Abuzar Ebrahimi Turkman, in meeting with Sheikh ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade the Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims' Board (CMB) in the capital of Republic of Azerbaijan on Friday night, hailed long-established Tehran-Baku relations and said: "Iran and Republic of Azerbaijan has always supported each other and this relationship will continue."

Sheikh ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade, Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims' Board (CMB) at the 5th Round of Intercultural Dialogue of World Forum in Baku said that such conferences show an urgent need for reaching peace in the world and region.

Turkman travelled to the Republic of Azerbaijan at an official invitation of country's Minister of Culture, Abulfas Garaye to take part at the meeting of Intercultural Dialogue of World Forum.

The 2-day cultural event in Baku started on Thursday, May 2 is sponsored by Ministry of Culture of Republic of Azerbaijan, UNESCO, Association of Civilization of UN, International Tourism Organization, the University of Peace affiliated to UN and some other local and international institutions.

Abuzar Ebrahimi Turkman, speaking at the 5th Round of Intercultural Dialogue of World Forum in Baku said cultural dialogue based on rationality and wisdom is urgently needed to achieve peace and prevent violence.

He said a modern form of ignorance is self-absolutism, adding that the self-absolute man considers himself as God and his own judgement as correct and sacred and believes that practising them is a religious duty.
