Turkey's president has said the recent crime in Sri Lanka was simply an attempt to tarnish Islam, but in reality this act of terrorism has nothing to do with Islam.

Iran Press/Asia: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) said the recent crime in Sri Lanka has nothing to do with Islam and a real Muslim never stains his hands and heart with innocent blood.

According to an Iran Press report, talking among AKP supporters on Saturday, Erdogan added that those who are after legitimizing Islamophobia were behind the Sri Lanka and New Zealand mosque attacks.
