Mashhad (IP) - A Nasta?l?q calligraphy exhibition is currently being held in the northeastern city of Mashhad.

Iran Press/Iran news: The Nasta?l?q calligraphy exhibition is underway in the Holy city of Mashhad in Rezvan gallery in North Eastern Iran.  

The event showcases the calligraphy of maestro Mahdi Esmaieli, the famous Iranian calligrapher and one of the leading practitioners of this art. Esmaieli has won first prize in at least 18 great festivals of calligraphy in Iran.

The maestro has also showcased his art and calligraphy outside of Iran, in countries like Bangladesh, Qatar,Pakistan and Kuwait. 

Esmaieli is considered the most famous calligrapher of  Southern Khorasan,  who has the honour of receiving the first Order of Culture and Art.

The current event in Mashhad displays some 80 artistic works of Esmaieli and it will last until 18 April 2019.

Nasta?l?q is one of the main calligraphic styles of writing in Persian, and traditionally the predominant style in Persian calligraphy. It was developed in Iran in the 14th and 15th centuries.103/211/203
