Iran Press/ Europe: This vessel, designed to enhance the activities of the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines in the Caspian Sea and boost cargo transport along the North-South Corridor, is scheduled to be delivered to the Iranian shipping fleet by this fall.
Over the past two years, the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines has seen significant growth in cargo transport from northern Iranian ports to Russia and other Caspian Sea countries, highlighted by the successful acquisition of the Salyanka Port in Astrakhan.
According to assessments by Russian port authorities, the Iranian Salyanka Port has achieved the top ranking among Astrakhan ports.
The Salyanka Port, established on an 18-hectare operational area, features five docks capable of simultaneously accommodating five ships and includes 14,000 tons of covered storage.
The port also boasts eight portal cranes, 80 rail cranes, three locomotives, a wood dryer, a cold corridor, a terminal, a grain elevator, and refrigerated container sockets.
Official statistics indicate that Salyanka Port has captured approximately one-quarter of the share of Iranian ships passing through Astrakhan ports.
