Iran Press/ Middle East: "The 500,000 Yemenis suffering from commonly incurablediseases need to travel outside Yemen for treatment," Khalid al-Sharif told IranPress on Tuesday about the consequences of the blockade of Sanaa International Airport.
The airport director said more than 10,000 patients also need liver transplants and that more than 5,000 Yemenis are disabled, and if left untreated, their disability will become permanent.
Khalid al-Sharif said that more than one million Yemenis need special medicines to treat their chronic diseases. Still, only 400,000 medicines enter through Sanaa Airport, and it is impossible to import them through other crossings.
He added: "Of course, the blockade of the airport has also economic, political and social consequences that double the tragedy."
