Qom (IP)- A ceremony honoring Sheikh Hashem Safieddine, a martyred Hezbollah leader, was held in Qom with the attendance of Sheikh Isa Qassim, a Bahraini Shia cleric.

Iran Press/Iran News:  According to Iran Press, the Bahraini community in Qom organized the event to honor the memory of martyr leaders of the Resistance, including Sheikh Hashem Safi al-Din, with Sheikh Isa Qassim and other Bahraini figures like Sheikh Hussein al-Daihi, Deputy Secretary-General of Bahrain’s Al-Wefaq Islamic Society, in attendance."

Safieddine was widely expected to be formally elected as Hezbollah’s next secretary general after Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah was assassinated in an Israeli airstrike in southern Beirut on September 27.

Martyr Sayyed Hashem Safieddine was one of the leaders and founders of the Lebanese resistance and among the close and loyal companions of Martyr Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, who spent his whole honorable life pursuing the freedom of holy al-Quds and the defense of Lebanon's honor and territorial integrity against the aggression and crimes of the Zionist occupation regime, and he was finally martyred on this holy path.
