In a meeting on Wednesday, the Russian President and Chinese Premier discussed Western pressure and stronger cooperation in all fields.

Iran PressEurope: The Kremlin announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin met and talked with Chinese Premier Li Qiang in Moscow on Wednesday 21 August.

Chinese Premier Li Qiang expressed his willingness to collaborate with Russia in exploring new areas of cooperation, in addition to strengthening their partnership in traditional areas.

Li Qiang made these comments during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin following the 29th regular meeting between Chinese and Russian heads of government, which he co-chaired with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

The regular meeting, held every year since its inception in 1996, is an important mechanism for implementing the consensus reached by the two countries' heads of state and promoting bilateral cooperation and people-to-people exchanges.

Also, in this meeting, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin accused Western countries of “containing” the potential of Russia and China, saying that the duo should jointly defend their shared interests and uphold the principles of a multipolar world order amidst increasing pressure from the West, state-run media reported.
