Iran Press/ Iran News: Delivering a speech at the ceremony, the Chancellor of Tehran University Mohammad Moghimi said to reach the new Islamic civilization, stressed by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khamenei, one important issue is the elevation of scientists' status.
Moghimi said that the ceremony aims to promote knowledge and develop the discourse of science as well as to honor the scholars.
He highlighted the brilliant history of Iran's science and scientists and expressed hope that the Iranian scholars once again will become the harbingers of science and knowledge in the world.
As another speaker at the ceremony, the Chancellor of Tehran's Medical University Hossein Ghana'ati highlighted the determining role of science in today's world and the more scientifically advanced countries are the pioneers in the world.
He referred to Tehran Medical University as a scientific society that is catching up with the upgraded science in most areas and recalled Iran's advancements such as CAR T cell therapy to cure cancer, saying Iran is the third country in the world possessing the treatment technology.
Ghana'ati also referred to the robotic surgery operation which was done in Indonesia in the presence of the Iranian and Indonesian Presidents, through an Iranian device.
The Knowledge Excellence Medal ceremony was held at Allameh Amini Hall of Central Library and Documentation Center, Tehran, on the Anniversary of the University of Tehran Establishment Law, with the support of the University of Tehran (UT), Tehran University of Medical Science (TUMS).
