European Union Foreign Policy Chief Josef Borrell has strongly condemned the terrorist attacks in the Iranian city of Kerman during a telephone conversation with Iran’s Foreign Minister

European Union Foreign Policy Chief Josef Borrell has strongly condemned the terrorist attacks in the Iranian city of Kerman during a telephone conversation with Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian.

Borrell offered condolences to the families of the victims and also to the Iranian government and people. He also wished the injured would recover soon.

Amir-Abdollahian for his part referred to the necessity of the international community to fight different forms of terrorism and thanked the EU’s top diplomat for sympathizing with Iran over the Kerman attacks.

During the phone conversation, Amir-Abdollahian and Borrell also discussed the latest regional developments including the situation in Gaza.

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian also pointed out the need for the international community to deal with various forms of terrorism and thanked the EU High Representative for his sympathy in this regard.

Earlier, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Kerman, Iran, and expressed his condolences to the government and people of Iran.

Florencia Soto Nino., Deputy Spokesperson of the United Nations, told the  journalists: "The Secretary General of the United Nations strongly condemns the attack on the memorial ceremony in the city of Kerman in the Islamic Republic of Iran, which according to reports left more than 100 dead and many injured." 219
