Iran Press/ Iran news: Takhtjan village of Darmiyan city is one of the important centers of barberry production in Khorasan province.
After Afin and Zahan of Zirkuh city, where 400 hectares of land have been used for barberry cultivation, Takhtjan is another area where barberry is planted.
In addition to employing villagers and meeting domestic needs, barberry production is exported to more than 30 countries, including Russia, Germany, Australia, Austria, the Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States.
Barberry is also used for medical purposes, which is useful for reducing fever, treating back pain, heart problems, liver problems, etc.
The product will be harvested in the fall, and it is predicted that 20,500 tons of barberry will be harvested from the cultivated area in South Khorasan this year.
