Tehran (IP)- Republic of Azerbaijan’s foreign minister arrived in Tehran on Monday and was welcomed by his Iranian counterpart in Iran Ministry of Foreign Affairs Compound.

Iran PressIran News: Jeyhun Bayramov is in Tehran at the official invitation of his Iranian counterpart, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.

In addition to meeting with his Iranian counterpart, Bayramov is scheduled to meet with other Iranian high-ranking officials,  including Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.

This will be the first trip of the Azeri top diplomat to Tehran since Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi took office.

Amir-Abdollahian and Bayramov held a phone conversation last month, discussing Tehran-Baku's political, economic, commercial, consular, and parliamentary ties.

The Iranian foreign minister paid a one-day visit to Baku last year and met with his Azeri counterpart and the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
