IP - A study by researchers at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, published in The Lancet, estimates that at least 64,000 Palestinians were killed in the Gaza war between October 2023 and June 2024.

Iran Press/West Asia: According to the analysis, the real death toll in Gaza is 41% higher than official registered figures published by the Gaza Health Ministry.

A study published in the Lancet medical journal estimates that between October 2023 and June 2024, there were more than 64,000 Palestinian deaths while the official figure for that period was 37,877 deaths.

According to the report, the difference is for those who lost their life in the Israeli war on Gaza indirectly.

Some 59% of the dead were women, children, or the elderly, according to the peer-reviewed Lancet report, which is roughly in line with other estimates.

At least 32 Palestinians have been killed and 193 injured in Israeli attacks across Gaza in the past 48 hours.

The latest deaths have brought the total toll since October 7, 2023, to 46,537, the Gaza Health ministry reported adding that 499 previously unreported deaths were also added to the total.
