Iran Press/West Asia: On November 27, the Syrian militant group Tahrir Al-Sham launched a significant offensive against the Syrian government army in Aleppo, Northern Syria.
This offensive coincided with a ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and Israel, prompting the Syrian Army to regroup to protect civilians and soldiers and prepare for a counterattack on November 30 after Tahrir Al-Sham captured Hama.
On Saturday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held closed-door discussions at the Doha Talks 2024.
Upon arriving in Doha, Araghchi urged for negotiations between the Syrian government and opposition forces to politically resolve the conflict. UN Special Envoy for Syria Geir Pedersen also arrived in Doha.
The Syrian Defense Ministry reported heavy clashes between the Syrian army and militants in the provinces of Hama and Homs on Saturday.
