Iran Press/West Asia: The head of Iran's parliamentary delegation, Mohsen Zangeneh, emphasized the importance of the Economic Committee meeting of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly in Bahrain. He stated that these countries, within the framework of Asian nations, stressed the necessity of resolving issues through regional countries, respecting geographical boundaries and international borders, and preventing foreign intervention and involvement in the region.
Mohsen Zangeneh went on to say, "This was the first meeting held at an international level after changes in Syria's governance and political structure. Delegations from countries in West and East Asia, including Turkey, Iraq, Jordan, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Indonesia, and Cambodia, as well as a delegation from Russia led by the Deputy Speaker of the Russian Duma, had a serious and effective presence at this meeting."
Zangeneh mentioned discussions with representatives from several countries on the sidelines of the meeting regarding regional developments. He noted that during meetings with Syrian and Iraqi representatives, the emphasis was placed on active engagement in response to regional events. Additionally, talks were held with Russian representatives about the country's upcoming plans. The assembly also saw negotiations with multiple countries about ending the conflict and recognizing the rights of the Syrian people.
He noted that it was decided in the meeting to make detailed decisions regarding the issues of Syria and Palestine at the next Inter-Parliamentary Political Committee meeting in Iraq.
The annual meeting of the Permanent Committee on Economic Affairs and Sustainable Development of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly was held on December 9 in Manama, the capital of Bahrain, with the presence of representatives from the member parliaments of the assembly.
