Islamic Revolution significant change for the region and world: Afghanistan Senior official

Afghanistan’s Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah said on Friday that the Islamic Revolution was a turning point in human history.

Iran Press/Asia: Afghanistan's Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah attending in the commemoration ceremony of the 41st anniversary of Iran's Islamic Revolution held at Iran's embassy, congratulated the anniversary of Iran's Islamic Revolution victory to the Iranian nation and government and stressed that the victory of Iran's Islamic Revolution not only was a victory for Iran but a significant change for the region and the world.  

Abdullah expressed hope on the reduction of tensions in the region and appreciated the Islamic Republic of Iran for the cooperation with Afghanistan. 

In this ceremony Iranian ambassador to Afghanistan, Bahador Aminian said that Iran-Afghanistan ties are expanding and he referred to the inauguration of the first phase of Chabahar Port as well as the construction of Khaf-Herat railway.

Appreciating Iran's helps to Afghanistan in the resistance axis and reconstruction of the country, Abdullah Abdullah referred to three million Afghan nationals hosted by Iran and said that the ties between the two countries are expanding in different political and economic areas.

"Iran and Afghanistan can take common steps not only in the areas of fighting terrorism and drug-trafficking but also in other regional issues," he added.

In the commemoration ceremony of the 41st anniversary of Iran's Islamic Revolution victory held in Afghanistan the envoys of foreign countries as well as afghan scholars, and cultural and political figures were present, where a photo exhibition of the achievements of the Islamic Revolution of Iran during the last four decades was set up.

The Islamic Revolution of Iran gained victory on February 11, 1979.
