Iran placed 4th at IWF World Championships

The Iranian men's national weightlifting team finished 4th at the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) World Championships in Thailand.

Iran Press/Asia: The Iranian men's national weightlifting team had participated in the event but as Kianoush Rostami and Mohsen Dadras were out, Iran’s chance to go on the platform was taken and finally, it finished at 4th place with 484 points.

China, Belarus, and South Korea finished 1st to 3rd respectively.

Grabbing 6 medals, Iran was placed 6th in the medal standings.

Georgia’s Lasha Talakhadze broke his own world records in the men’s over-109 kilograms snatch, clean and jerk and total as the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) World Championships ended on Friday.

He finished on 220kg in the snatch and 264kg in the clean and jerk, bettering his previous marks of 218kg and 260kg.
