Tehran (IP) - The Secretary of the National Security Council of Armenia arrived in Tehran at the head of a delegation to meet with Iranian officials.

Iran PressIran news: The Armenian official Armen Grigoryan plans to meet the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council and other high-ranking officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Regional developments and bilateral relations in the economic and infrastructure fields will be among the terms of discussion between Armenia's Grigoryan, and his Iranian counterpart Ali Akbar Ahmadian. The Islamic Republic has always voiced its readiness to cooperate in establishing peace and regional stability with the neighboring countries.

His trip to Tehran takes place after the recent developments in the Karabakh region followed by the establishment of a ceasefire and the dissolution of the self-proclaimed republic in the region.

Iran had previously stated that the security of the joint borders with its northern neighbors is vitally important and it defends the security of its borders with authority.

Following the recent developments in the Caucasus region, the Islamic Republic of Iran also held consultations with the conflicting parties, including telephone conversations with the foreign ministers of Iran, Azerbaijan, and Armenia, as well as the recent meeting of Iran's foreign minister with foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, which took place on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly (UNGA), held in New York.

Iranian authorities have repeatedly announced that Karabakh is a part of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The conflicts between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia over the Nagorno-Karabakh region have intensified in recent days.

The Republic of Azerbaijan reclaimed part of the lands of the region in 2020 and the second war with Armenia.

Last week, following the attacks of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the remaining parts of Karabakh, the Armenians were been disarmed and are leaving the region.
