Ten armed militants were killed in Manipur's Jiribam in “retaliatory fire” after a Central Reserve Police Force post came under attack on Monday.

According to the Iran Press news agency from New Delhi, these clashes occurred when armed people attacked the police station from both sides.
The police identified these armed men as suspected Kuki rebels. After the clashes, a curfew was imposed in the city.
Local sources announced that at least eleven suspected Kuki rebels were shot dead today in a clash with security forces in the Jiribam district of Manipur.
A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) soldier was injured in this attack in the region bordering the state of Assam.
Manipur is a state in northeastern India. The residents of this state, who are mostly Hindus, are made up of two communities, the majority Mithi (city dwellers) and the Kuki minority (mountain and village dwellers). There have been many quarrels between
them in recent years.
