Doha (IP) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, currently in Qatar for the Doha Forum, held a meeting on Saturday, December 7, with Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar. The two leaders discussed bilateral relations, regional issues, and recent developments in Syria.

Iran Press/West Asia: In addition to this high-level meeting, Araghchi also conferred with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on the sidelines of the forum, exchanging views on topics of mutual interest.

The visit to Qatar follows Araghchi's trip to Iraq on Friday, December 6, where he held talks with Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein. During his time in Baghdad, Araghchi also met with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani and President Abdul Latif Rashid to discuss regional cooperation and bilateral relations.

Furthermore, a trilateral meeting took place in Baghdad involving the foreign ministers of Iran, Iraq, and Syria. The talks were hosted at Iraq’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and focused on strengthening ties and addressing shared regional challenges.
