Iran Press/Asia: During his visit to China, Araghchi met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, where both diplomats underscored their leaders' commitment to strengthening and expanding strategic ties between their countries. The discussions covered the current state of relations in areas such as economy, trade, investment, energy, and transportation, as well as strategies to bolster bilateral cooperation within the framework of their comprehensive cooperation agreement.
The two sides also addressed the political landscape in the Middle East, asserting that the region belongs to its people and should not be a battleground for external interventions aimed at advancing geopolitical ambitions.
Araghchi and Wang expressed mutual concern regarding the instability in Syria, emphasizing the importance of maintaining Syria's national unity and territorial integrity while advocating for a peaceful transition to a government that reflects the wishes of all Syrians.
Additionally, the foreign ministers discussed the significance of enhancing collaboration to combat terrorism, uphold the rule of law at the international level, address nuclear issues, lift sanctions, and expand cooperation through platforms such as BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
