The IAEA chief Cornel Feruta entered Tehran on Sunday to talk to Iranian officials.

Iran Press/Iran News: The acting chief of the UN nuclear watchdog policing Iran’s nuclear deal with major powers, Cornel Feruta, has arrived in Tehran on Sunday, reported Iran press.

As the spokesman for the International Atomic Energy Agency said on Friday, the visit which is part of ongoing interactions between the IAEA and Iran, has been coincided with Iran's third phase of nuclear countermeasures as European failed to shield Iran from US illegal sanctions but gave them more time to save the pact.

Iran began the countermeasures in May on the anniversary of the United States withdrawal from its historic 2015 nuclear agreement with major world powers.

On May 8, 2018, US President Donald Trump pulled his country out of the nuclear accord and threatened US sanctions against any international companies that continued to do business with Iran. As a first step, Iran increased its enriched uranium stockpile to a level above the 300 kilograms set by the JCPOA.

In the second phase, Iran’s Arak heavy-water nuclear reactor — which was agreed to be redesigned under the agreement — resumed its previous activities. Iran also increased the level of its uranium enrichment, and will no longer stick to the 3.67% limit it had agreed upon in JCPOA.

Finally, on Saturday, The Spokesman for Iran's Atomic Energy Organization (AEOI) said the country has decided to reduce its commitment to Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) to create a balance in the nuclear deal.

Speaking at a press conference on Saturday morning, the Spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), Behrouz Kamalvandi urged the European signatories to the JCPOA to speed up efforts to fulfill their obligations and commitments under the nuclear deal, warning the Europeans that 'time is running out'.

On the same day, In an interview with Iran Press  Behrouz Kamalvandi said that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is fully aware of the reasons why Iran has reduced its nuclear commitments.
