Iran's oil minister reiterated that as long as the US sanctions remain against Iran, he foresees no chance for Tehran and Washington to mend their fractured relationships.

Iran PressEurope: Bijan Namdar Zangeneh made the remarks in an interview with CNBC's Brian Sullivan in the sideline of Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries OPEC meeting in Vienna.

"Under the pressure and increasing the pressure, Iran is not ready to open the discussion with the United States. If the US and its administration want to change the environment between the two countries, they should leave all sanctions put against Iran's oil exports and in other areas," Zangeneh noted.

"Then they will see a significant change in the environment and then we can do many things," Iran's oil minister stressed.

'Oil is Oil, not Weapon'

When Sullivan asked Zanganeh if it is safe for tankers in Gulf of Oman and Strait of Hormuz? Iran's oil minister said, "During more than one hundred years, we secured the market and we repeated it many times that oil market should be depoliticized and it's our aim. The oil is not a weapon and oil market should be depoliticized for all. It's not a tool to use against some countries to limit its exports. Oil is oil. Please understand it." 104/213
