Iranian government spokesman, Ali Rabiei

Iranian government spokesman, Ali Rabiei has forthrightly condemned the Israeli regime for conducting airstrikes and attacks in Iraqi territory, saying the Zionist regime should be held responsible for these acts of aggression.

Iran Press/ Iran news: Speaking at his weekly press conference in Tehran on Monday, Ali Rabiei said the Iraqi government is perfectly capable of giving an appropriate response to these acts of aggression by the Israeli regime.

At the beginning of his press conference, the government spokesman thanked the Iranian people for standing beside the government.

Rabiei said: "America has always pursued hostile policies in relation to Iran, including slapping sanctions on Iran. But the resilient and united Iranian nation will pass these difficulties with flying colours. Signs of improvement [in the economy] are visible. Yesterday in a meeting between the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and members of the cabinet, the economic challenges facing Iran and the difficulties faced by ordinary people were discussed in depth. The Leader urged officials to redouble their effort to remove and solve the challenges people and manufacturers are facing."

The government spokesman pointedly added: "We never give up on the unilateral [US] sanctions on Iran. The government based on the Leader's guidance will get through this difficult period. This week was a busy week in terms of diplomacy and diplomatic shuttling. Signs of economic improvement are on the horizon."
