Shahid Rajaee Port plays a very important role in export and transit of goods, so much so that it has been called the golden gate of Iran's economy.

Iran press/Iran news: The managing director of Ports and Maritime Organisation (PMO) of Hormozgan province, AllahMorad Afifpour has described the Shahid Rajaee Port and special economic zone as the "golden gate of Iran's economy". 

In an interview with Iran Press on Wednesday, Afifpour said the volume of non-oil exports from Shahid Rajaee port in the past two months have amounted to 6,175,416 tonnes. In the same two-month-period 1,351,777 tonnes of oil-related and oil-based derivatives and petrochemical products have been exported abroad.

In further comments, the managing director of Ports and Maritime Organisation (PMO) of Hormozgan province said in the past two months 323489 thousand tonnes of non-oil products have transited through Shahid Rajaee port.

The senior PMO official also emphasized that an increasing number of large ocean-going vessels are visiting Shahid Rajaee port to off-load their cargoes or do business with Iran. 101/211
