Alizadeh Tabatabaei added: "This trip was in order to implement the previous deals made by president Rouhani in his trip to Iraq or by senior Iraqi officials - Adil Abdul-Mahdi (prime minister), Barham Ahmed Salih (president) and Mohamed al-Halbousi (the speaker of the Council of Representatives of Iraq) - in Tehran," Iran Press Reported.

On 26 May, Iranian Foreign Minister heading a high-level delegation, arrived in Baghdad and then held a meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi and also the country's President Barham Saleh to stress security cooperation.

"If the US returns to JCPOA, Iran will investigate the possibility of talks with the US," said the deputy ambassador. "Washington left the JCPOA irrationally and has forced cruel conditions against Iran which we cannot accept and its actions has revealed the true face of the United States," he added.

"Iran doesn't interfere in other countries' internal affairs; Instead, it fights the terrorists in an answer to the official governments' requests in those countries and we witnessed the same issue in Iraq and Syria. But the US has military bases in the region and interferes in other countries' internal affairs," he continued.

Alizadeh Tabatabaei concluded by saying that Iran has always wanted to improve its relations with other regional countries, something which Iran's President and Foreign Minister have always emphasised in their meetings with senior officials of other countries.  101/211/214
