Tehran (IP) - Iranian expert on American affairs said that the US hostility towards Iran is because of the ideology that rejects hegemonic western powers.

Iran Press/Iran news: "The United States has been the enemy of the Iranian nation since 1953 when it orchestrated a coup against the elected government in Iran. This hostility has continued until the victory of the Islamic revolution in 1979," Foad Izadi said in an exclusive interview with Iran Press on Tuesday in the sidelines of the commemoration of Iran's martyred commander Mostafa Chamran.

Chamran's martyrdom anniversary was commemorated in Amir-Kabir university in Tehran with the attendance of the Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), Major General Hussein Salami and several professors of Iranian universities.

"There are several examples regarding the US schemes against Iran," said Izadi adding, "Supporting Sadam Hussein, imposing inhumane sanctions against Iranians and threatening to use military power which is in violation of the UN Charter, are among them."

The Iranian expert continued: "The Us plentiful crimes against Iran are because Iran does not want to follow the US foreign policy. Another reason is that Iran has oil and also it has an ideology that rejects western hegemonic powers."

"So the combination of these three reasons, leads American officials to be hostile towards Iran," he concluded. 101/214
