Iran crowned as Asian Hockey champion

The Iranian national men's indoor hockey team defeated Kazakhstan in the 8th Asia Cup final, winning the Asian title.

Iran PressAsia: At Chon Buri, Thailand, on Sunday, the Iranian team showed its strength and dominance over its Central Asian rival by winning 10 to 0 and grabbing the Asian title.

Reza Norouzzadeh, Navid Taherzadeh, and Behdad Beyranvand scored 5,3, and 1 goal respectively, Iran Press reported.

At the start of the campaign, Iran men's national ice hockey team, the most-decorated team in Asia, was in a group with Bangladesh, Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines.

It won all the games in the group stage with a vast difference and reached final after beating Uzbekistan.

The 1st edition of the men's Indoor Hockey Asia Cup started in 2008 and this year’s competition was the eighth edition.
