Iranian minister appoints as ILO head of Asia and Oceania Department

Iranian Minister of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare has been appointed as the head of International Labor Organization for Asia and Oceania department.

Iran PressAsia: After finishing the Chinese official's term, Iranian Minister of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare Mohammad Shariatmadari was appointed as ILO head of Asia and Oceania Department by the suggestion of five other countries.

The International Labor Organization is a United Nations agency with a mandate to promote social justice and decent work by setting international labor standards, IRNA reported.

According to ILO, Shariatmadari was appointed to the post in the 108th international labor conference. 208/104
