An Iranian MP said Turkey is an influential and important power in the region which looks for expanding multilateral ties with Iran.

Iran Press/Iran news: "While the US has imposed unilateral sanctions against Iran, Turkey is asking for multilateral cooperation with Iran," said Hamid Reza Haji-Babai, member of the plan and Budget Commission of Iranian Parliament in an exclusive interview with Iran Press on Sunday.

"Cooperation requested by the Turkish side, is a sign of Turkey's officials' agility and vast point of view toward the region and also toward the Islamic Republic of Iran," said Haji-Babai.

The Iranian MP added: "None of America's unilateral unfair sanctions would debilitate or weaken Iran's power as long as Iran reserves its sovereignty. The Islamic Republic of Iran is effective both in the region and also among the regional countries based on its close and strong communication."

"Turkey is a Muslim-ruled country, which is influential and important in the region, the same as Iran. Moreover, Turkey is one of our main allies. If a country's interests are being threatened, the other side will be suffered too," he mentioned.

"I congratulate Turkey over its wisdom and vigilance. Such countries are responsible for peace and security in the region," The Iranian MP concluded. 104/209
