Millions of Iranians across the country are celebrating the Eid al-Fitr on Wednesday (June 5) that marks the end of the holy blessed month of Ramadhan.

Iran Press/Iran news: Shortly after sunrise, the Iranian people turned out en masse throughout the country to take part in the Eid al-Fitr mass prayers.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei is to lead the Eid al-Fitr prayers at 8:30 a.m. local time (0330 GMT) at Tehran's Imam Khomeini Grand Prayer Grounds (Mosalla), Iran Press reported.

Eid al-Fitr, one of the most important festivities in Islam, is the first day of the lunar month of Shawwal in Arabic calendar. It marks the end of the holy month of Ramadhan during which Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset.
