Tehran (IP) -The Minister of Information and Communications Technology says that the Information and communication technology plays a key and pivotal role in relief and rescue operations.

Iran Press/Iran news: Iran's minister for Information Technology and Communications, Mohammad-Javad Azari Jahromi stressed the fact that Information and Communications Technology plays a key and pivotal role in relief and rescue services, and it definitely helps reduce the amount of casualties and death toll by alerting and informing the public.

Referring to the fact that the Leader of Islamic Revolution has always praised the the rescue and relief services in emergencies, Azari Jahromi expressed hope that, Iran could get the best result at the upcoming natural disasters, reported Iran Press.

Azari Jahromi's remarks came as he and the top officials of Iran's Red Crescent society sat for the conference to exchange ideas. The event was also attended by Iranian Red Crescent Society head, Ali Asghar Peyvandi.

The Head of Iranian Red Crescent Society(IRCS), Ali Asghar Peyvandi who was also among the participants of the event, stressed the importance of the activities the society does for saving lives as well as the necessity to update the equipment saying: "We must have the latest equipment, we must be fully equipped with state-of-the-art equipment in communications and information technology organization".

He also expressed satisfaction over the presence of many volunteers which work and help people freely and they want to be member of relief and rescue organization.

Emphazsizing the fact that well equipped IRCS can provide people with proper services they really need, Ali Asghar Peyvandi expressed hope that IRCS could extend its cooperation with the other organization within a national and international scale.
