The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, has appointed new air defense commanders including the new commander of Khatam al-Anbia Air Defence Base.

Iran press/Iran news: In two separate decrees, the Commander-in-Chief of all Iranian Armed Forces Ayatollah Khamenei on Tuesday evening appointed the top Army Commander, Major General Seyyed Abdolrahim Mousavi as the new commander of Khatam al-Anbia Air Defence Base and also appointed Brigadier General Alireza Sabahi Fard to the post of the commander of the Army Air Defence.

In the decree, the Leader urged General Mousavi to use all the facilities and capacities of the country's Armed Forces to defend the Iranian airspace and reinforce the integrated and strong network of Iran's air defence command and control, Press TV reported.

Mousavi, who will retain his post of Army Commander-in-Chief in addition to his new post, has replaced Brigadier General Alireza Sabahi Fard who was formerly the commander of Khatam al-Anbia Air Defence Base.
