Mecca (IP) - More than 52 thousand Iranian pilgrims are currently in Mecca, attending the annual Hajj ceremony.

Iran Press/Iran news: Iran's Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization in Mecca announced that so far, 52671 Iranian pilgrims have arrived in this city, as of Saturday (27 July), to prepare for the Hajj al-Tamattu ritual.

Starting Tawaf around the Kaaba and performing Umrah al-Tamattu, the pilgrims have performed one of the most important stages of their Hajj ritual, Iran Press reported.

"60,623 pilgrims have been so far transferred from Iran to Saudi Arabia," said the Head of Iran's Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, Alireza Rashidian.

According to Rashidian,  84,000 Iranian pilgrims are attending this year's Hajj season. 104/211/208
